My friend Detroit Firefighter Walt Harris was murdered 17 years ago in an arson for profit scheme.
His murderer got 40-60 years. But there he sat this week, yucking it up in court, claiming there’s new evidence to acquit him.
Problem is: the Michigan Court of appeals ruled 13 years ago that this “new evidence” was no evidence at all.
Here’s the evidence: a handyman said he was paid 20 bucks to light the fire.
The murderer’s cellphone was pinged near the scene of the crime at the time of the fire.
There’s video footage of his truck near the scene of the crime at the time of the fire.
So how is he back in court?
Money.
