TRANSCRIPT:
Well, it’s the day before election here in Detroit, Michigan, and I don’t know who won it, and I don’t know if tomorrow we’re going to know who won it, and it doesn’t matter anyway, because nothing’s going to change here. Money out of politics. They just spent $1 billion here.
That’s enough to fund the city of Detroit for a year. Instead, the money was pissed away on empty ads that have nothing to do with us. I mean, Gaza.
We keep giving the billionaires down here millions for these buildings while the city needs cop cars. Meanwhile, in downtown Detroit, murder by knife is the latest grisly fad. Republicans don’t say anything because the billionaires are all big Trump guys.
Our electricity grid is among the worst and most expensive in the nation, but the Democrats don’t say anything because Whitmer is in bed with the power executives. I could go on and on and on, but I won’t. I don’t need to because you already know, Michigan, $1 billion.
But look on the bright side. At least the national media get back on their clown cars and get the f*** out of here. Live from downtown Detroit, it’s the No Bullshit News Hour with my main man, Charlie LeDuc.
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah keeping things fresh, updated, and new. We’d love to have you come downtown and visit us, but if you can’t, you can always go to AmericanKonyIsland.com, order a Kony kit, get it delivered fresh right to your door. Is this the hole-in-one? It’s a hole-in-one, $50,000 if you hit it.
Luke Nowacki, Financial Wealth Management. What is 50 grand after tax? 37,750. What about state tax? Yeah, that’s, I’m throwing both in there.
What about sales tax? There’s no sales tax. Well, you’re buying the beer. There’s income.
You’re buying the beer. Eh, we write that off. Luke Nowacki, 248-668-474, 663-4748, 663-4748 for sound finance.
He’s better at numbers than I am. All right, listen, I asked, election’s over now, we know, and I asked no one to tell me, till right now. I went to bed.
I don’t give a bullshit about politics. I give a bullshit about what politicians do to us. That’s my sweet spot.
Right, James Nixon? Yeah. Who’s joining us? The political columnist for the Michigan Enjoyer and the Republican whisperer. And this is Jamie Rhodes, political consultant.
He worked on the Rogers campaign. We went to high school together. So I get up, and the phone’s going, I turn it back on.
I want my peace, I want my quiet. Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. Everybody.
Oh, man, your party’s fucked up, dude. Anyway, last week we had the Democrats out, you remember? Chris Cuomo, he says he’s not a Democrat, but he really is, and Tyra Brown, you know. And so this week I invited the Republicans and conservative because I’m a subscriber to the great Jimmy Breslin.
Do you know Jimmy Breslin? I do. The great American reporter, I think he would call himself. And he had the theory of covering sports that you never go to the winner’s locker room.
You always go to the loser’s locker room because that’s where the human emotion is. I’ll give you an example. Kennedy was shot and all the press, the media, the journalists flocked to the memorial, the dignitaries, the politicians.
Jimmy Breslin went to Arlington National Cemetery and the man who was paid $3.01 an hour, the guy who was digging JFK’s grave, that’s what he did. And it’s just become in the pantheon of American journalism. So that’s what you guys are doing here because I knew this was coming.
Yeah, I mean, you guys, you knew it was coming. You had those internal polls. The polls were dead nuts on, by the way, to know that.
Very close. Yeah. And your internals probably told you, I don’t like doing politics, but we’ll do it.
And it’d be good to hear from conservatives in the Republican Party because we’re not going to hear from you for years. You’ll never shut up, but you like out in the wind now. So let’s just real quick update.
I had to do it this morning because I was sleeping. For Governor Jocelyn Benson defeats John James by 11. That’s in the margin of everything.
Senator Abdul, I’ll say he pronounced it correctly last night. No one ever asked him how do you pronounce your name? I tried, but I couldn’t get a second question. Defeated Mike Rogers by seven percent in the 10th Congressional House District.
That’s McComb. Christina Hines beats Mike Bouchard by six percent in the seventh, which is near Lansing. William Lawrence, DSA, Democrat Socialist of America, defeat incumbent Tom Barrett, who actually voted against the action in Iran, took a lot of shit for in the third, which is out near Grand Rapids.
Hillary Schulten is that Schulten, Schulten, Schulten. Thanks, Mark. I was wrong to destroys Terry DeBoer by 16 percent in the 12th.
That’s DeLorean’s district over there. Rashida Tlaib defeats the Republican James Hooper by 55 percent. And I know that part of town.
That ain’t DSAville. You know what I’m saying? The 13th Congressional District, east side of Detroit, Sri Tandahar is a close gross points quick. Name it a gross points.
Oh, I’m McComb County boy. Hey, you lost over there too, bro. Okay.
Donovan McKinney defeated Tara Taurus. You know, Taurus Petrus. Oh, okay.
So Petrus, he’s had many names. Yeah. Remember, he’s convicted of dressing as a priest and ripping off the Orthodox church.
That’s who the Republicans put up. That was the nominee. Yeah.
Yeah. But it was pretty close. He only lost by 57 percent.
Okay. So you missed one for Congress to in the fourth district. Congressman Bill Heisinger also went down.
Heisinger. He’s over on the west side of the Kalamazoo, Bering County. Now, you know, I mean, the question is going to be like, what’s up with the Republicans? They got nothing.
We got a bunch of retreads. We got John James. We got Mike Rogers.
And I get this weirdest call. The Republicans are now bitching. There’s no party structure.
There’s no money. There was no plan. The chairman was falling asleep at donor meetings.
I mean, what happened? Is this a referendum on Trump? Was that what it was? Or is it your party’s a mess and you don’t have anybody? It was a nationwide undertow that everybody across. I’m sorry. I apologize.
Can’t you see the billboard here? Make politics local again. Can you start here and then work your way out? You like that? But the undertow didn’t miss Michigan. Right.
Is is is what I’m saying. Right. I mean, this was not just us.
It was it was everywhere. And Texas, Texas is more royal blue than the Michigan. No, we we we obviously, you know, the one thing that would have been interesting had Congressman James stayed at in the 10th District, would he have been able to hold on to that district? I think there’s a lot of people asking that question right now.
Was it the wrong time for him to step up and and run for governor? And I think it probably was he he might have been able to handle. But that district was was good. And I’ll tell you what, Christina Hines in the 10th ran a good local focused race, man.
She really did. Her last ad was interesting. She came up with the ranch dressing goes with everything.
And I think she’s trying to appeal to my wife who put it on everything and it worked. So, yeah, we it’s a shellacking, bro. Up, down, across the party has not been a operating entity for, you know, since like twenty eighteen.
It’s probably the last time we had a real functioning state party here, I think, which was the pink wave and also a loss. A big one. Yes.
And sort of then turned on the crazies at the convention who who nominate this and anarchy ensued. But in the meantime, then we also came back and won a majority in the state house and we want to carry the state for the president in twenty four. Damn near won the Senate race in twenty four.
But a consistent, coherent message. We don’t have hate politics, blah, blah, blah. What happened last night? Last night, what happened? Is it a referendum on Trump? It absolutely is a referendum on Trump.
So my slogan here, make politics local again. It started off as an attempt and is an attempt to answer the question, what do you do when your most popular guy will never run for office again after twenty four? He’s never going to appear on another ballot again. What do you do? You move the focus from one man, however popular or unpopular to the voter, to the stuff they care about and they need.
And Trump insisted on making this election about him. And we saw the results. Was it the war? Because some is some for sure.
Some statistical shit. Things were good in twenty twenty five. You know, it’s the economy.
Yeah, they were at including inflation and including tariffs. It grew at three percent in the last two years of Biden. It grew at one quarter of a percent.
And through the four years of Biden, it shrank by five tenths of a percent. And gas was about two eighty five before we started the war in Iran. Eggs went down.
Don’t get done. No, look at you. What is the economy? Stupid.
Well, you know, percent. And it’s even if you add in what’s happened since the action began in Iran. This year’s economy has shrunk our take home wealth by almost a percent.
So I don’t remember last year. I remember gas right now. Yeah.
Heating bill right now. Electricity right now. And then the guys dancing around, making it by him.
Do you think. That your team would have done better if Trump hit the switch today in Iran instead of back in March. I mean, I think it’s impossible to tell.
I think if he had left it at the original strike that they did last year to take out the nuclear facility and just left it at that and then gone to a containment strategy, it probably works a whole lot better. We would not have the disruption. Plus, the other thing, you know, I’m I’ve liked the president’s message in in from 2016 forward where he promised to end endless wars.
And quite frankly, I think people, a lot of people felt that not only did he not keep that promise, the net impact of not keeping that promise is that now I’m paying, you know, damn near five dollars for gas. And there there are people who I think there’s a lot of people out there who feel like they were betrayed. I call it the parable of the red dress.
My mom used to talk about this, where if a woman asks you for a red dress, don’t come home with a green dress and a story about how that’s what she really wants. We wanted mass deportations. We were promised mass deportations.
And instead, I give you a war that nobody asked for and nobody wants. Right. And nobody benefits from it.
And a lot of missteps, for instance, you know, you picked with this guy, Christine Noem. Right. It gets repositioned about who ISIS and what they’re doing when they decided to make it a Hollywood set in Minneapolis.
You if you know they’re they’re removing more people now than they were at that time. Right. But you don’t hear about it.
Right. Again, more TV. Yeah.
Not good. Precise policy. Right.
And it just it ain’t your life. What people wanted is things like workplace enforcement, debanking, making it impossible to stay here if you’re not a citizen. Things like texting remittances.
These things would have made a dent. You don’t. It’s, you know, Aesop’s fables, right? The wind and the sun, the wind and the sun have a bet.
This man’s walking in the park. Who can get him to take off his jacket? The wind blows and blows and the man grabs the jacket tighter, but the sun comes out and he takes it off. You make them want to take it off.
You make them want to leave. That hasn’t been done. And so they did the high drama way as opposed to the more effective way and then give us a war no one wanted.
It’s absurd. No one wanted this. And it’s it’s it actually overrode even if the candidates had done everything right.
Well, because there’s no more local issue than the pain I feel in my ass every time I reach down to pay for gas. They never sold the reasoning behind that. No, they didn’t.
They didn’t sell it. Still don’t know what we’re doing there. I said Trump needs to do a national address, sit on the desk just like you’re doing and explain it.
Instead, people told me, oh, go to Promethean Action and Susan Cook. And if you’re watching this, I love you. Nothing against you.
But it needed to come from the big man himself. You mean something like they needed to explain how I would benefit from the war? Ladies and gentlemen. Netanyahu told me to do it.
Something like that. And it’s funny because on Election Day, Trump comes out and says no more foreign aid for Israel. But the biggest foreign aid for Israel is the war in Iran.
And what’s the reward you get for it? Jews vote for Abdul El-Sayed. It’s stupid. And Bibi Netanyahu got beat, too.
Like, what do you do with that? And these are the experts. These are the people with the power. And what they want to do now is they want to say influencers aren’t big enough Trump fans.
And that’s the problem. That dog don’t hunt. You have the power.
It was your job to use it. You were elected to make people’s lives better. You gave them a war they didn’t want.
And the president holding that press conference at the Reflecting Pool the other day, I watched that for about five minutes. And I’m like, what on God’s earth is going on here? He still thinks he’s a TV star. And I don’t a mark show just got canceled.
Mark, is it for you? Is it just the action in Iran? Is it just that? Yeah. I mean, look, I believe that feelings beat fact. And like you said, you go to the gas tank and you see how much more it is now.
You don’t think about what it was, you know, in twenty twenty two or twenty twenty one. You think about now. Right.
I also think on a very surface level, because I’m kind of an idiot, that you enjoy the show like you’re talking about. Trump makes people laugh. But you know what? That’s why a lot of seasons don’t last past, you know, season two, season three, season four, because it gets a little old, it gets a little stale.
And now you’re watching reruns and it’s like, I don’t like this guy anymore. You know, and quite honestly, the war breaks multiple promises. We were promised cheap energy.
We were promised no wars. We were promised many things and none of which have come true. You know, I mean, you got to give the president credit, border secured.
Right. That problem solved. But that was one of the big reasons why in many other things to tax the tax cut bill, I think was good.
It was sold terribly. Well, what we’re doing here is why he got wiped out, not promoting his agenda like he got wiped out, like people aren’t happy with it. They flip seven Senate seats if I’m reading The New York Times correctly.
I’m not correct anymore. It’s a much different paper than when I worked there. And 228 house seats go to the Democrats.
That’s a 29 seat flip. Having said no, way more than that. Way more than now.
We’re going to be down. It’s more like a 55 seat flip. Yeah.
Is it going to be 55? I think Republicans are going to be reduced to about 160 seats. Oh, they’re not done counting. No.
Yeah. That that that was preliminary. I mean, it probably did not include the bloodbath out West.
They still might get two Senate seats, but probably unlikely. Right. Mississippi, Mississippi Senate race right now is literally a 20 vote margin.
Jesus. OK, because, you know, with the with the Democrat winning. Oh, OK.
So Reagan, Reagan lost the house. He got creamed in the midterms. Clinton lost both chambers of Congress.
Right. It’s a nice 1994 level blowout. Yeah.
Yeah. Bush number two lost both chambers, but he lost them in the, you know, two midterms. The result of the backlash in the Iraq war.
Oh, oh, six. But I think in oh, two, we lost. Oh, no, no.
The outlier. He won right after 9-11, or at least close enough after 9-11. And so I think Republicans ended up winning a Senate majority.
That check is on and big house majority. That was the first year I went to D.C. with Candace. And yeah, we came in.
We had a big majority that year. Obama lost both chambers and famously lost 64 house seats, which is the biggest flip ever. Twenty ten.
OK. And then Trump lost both. So, right.
This is also just our short term desires, you know, and I I’m comforted by the idea that it’s cyclical. I mean, look, the Democrats survived the Civil War. There shouldn’t have been a Democrat Party after the Civil War.
And so you think, OK, if you can survive that, you can survive anything. But when you factor in the millions of people who should not be here and the fact that they’re voting and the fact that those first two years was your best chance to get them out and you didn’t and they’ll vote next time and you lost Texas. I’m struggling to think of like, where’s the bright side? Where’s the path forward? I mean, Texas, dude.
Yeah, it’s pretty serious. And incumbencies almost for a lifetime, isn’t it? That math don’t work without Texas. 2002, the Republicans held the House and expanded their lead by eight seats after 9-11.
OK, what about the Senate that year? Give me a minute. And then bring me to 2000. Recaptured the Senate.
I believe we had there was a tie in 2000 with Jake Cheney breaking the vote and then Jim Jeffords from Vermont flipped and then they won it back. Because I was in college. I remember one of my colleagues on AIM, the equivalent of tweeting back then, saying Jeffords free majority.
So they did so well that they didn’t even need the defector. No one knows what you’re talking about. Republicans took back the Senate in 2022 after 20.
2002, they took it back after not holding it. Right. Not holding it.
And 2000, they took control of it after 9-11. OK, and then lost it in 06. Yeah.
OK, so there you go. So, I mean, admit it like. The fucking Republican Party is nowhere, man, you guys blew it like weren’t you saying this to each other in the war room and stuff like wilderness, man, like, yeah, what I look, you know, I know you respect him.
He’s a great guy. He’s patriot. He’s served his country.
But you had to look at Rogers and go, this is that this is 10 years ago. This is not going to money. He didn’t run anything except Syed’s an ass.
Oh, and by the way. Play it. The acceptance speech of Abdul, I’ll tell you how he really pronounces his name.
Look, wait, pause it. Now, the conservative in the room, he’s like, dude, you’re really going to play this? Fuck him, I’ll play as my senator, dude. Please.
My name is Abdul Rahman Mohammed. What’s funny is both parties are in the same hotel last night. Oh, that would have been fun.
The book Cadillac. Some of the women at the Republican Party actually got stuck in the elevator, like the elevator got stuck with Syed and his wife. Just one of those little funny moments in politics, but I don’t know many people laughing right now on your side.
No.
So like our president became Donald W Trump, but listen, you’re the you got no help from the state Party because there is no state party it when it’s still broke We didn’t lose for lack of resources in in in this race. Obviously you talked about that billion dollars I mean there was full buy-in from the national outside groups here in in to support Rogers in particular. Yes This is a message loss a hundred percent a message loss, you know, it was no message.
Yeah I think he ran a fine race and my question would be people. Oh, we’re tired of Rogers if not Rogers Who exactly who would have been that’s that’s my point. You guys got nobody Yeah, nobody that talks to regular people lives like regular people I mean say I didn’t you know live like regular people, but he talks like regular He talks to talk and he lives here and he doesn’t have to are you from Florida or not, which? Last time around we hit that mercilessly, you know, it’s like nothing to say here What what what do you got that’s new and there’s they’re not looking for anybody fresh and grooming anybody fresh in, Michigan because they might come in they might come in and coalesce around a name right but Who’s the up-and-comer? Well, I’ll tell you this one thing that’s going to change right quick Is that the system that we’ve had for the last several years where all the whole battle was to fight it out? So that you get endorsed by Donald J Trump instead of having the best candidate step forward Yes, take their message to the voters and let the voters decide I think you would get a much better crop of candidates in but over the last few years man the whole battle So you got to be mega as you can be in order to get that Trump endorsement so you can win Hopefully we see let’s just keep that make politics local make me particularly these these People running for Congress or running for the legislature or whatever.
Don’t play to Trump play to the people you want to read the governor’s race Why was the president endorsing a Lansing race? You don’t work with the governor’s directly Senate okay, whatever you want. You know, these are people are basically your colleagues. You’re getting involved in the governor’s race I mean imagine had the candidate been Mike Cox.
Well, how about oh, you’re what would have been? Yeah Look William Lawrence out of Lansing over there. Okay. I’m a centrist.
Oh, he’s he’s left the center and Who guys a Froot Loop, he’s a communist but they at least there’s a crop of Younger people, you know understanding what’s going on. I’m glad you said that because this is what worries me so I looked into this program called new American leaders and it exists to Produce a pipeline of first and second generation candidates Americans Darren Camilleri who’s now going to be the head of the Michigan Senate? He’s from this Ranjit Puri who’s gonna be our house speaker He’s from this new Americans in a carpetbag are gonna be running Lansing Meanwhile when we have Canada clean sweep of Lansing as well the den. Oh, yeah.
Okay. All right I mean we’re talking governor Attorney General Secretary of State House Senate Supreme Court Yeah republicans which is how much power Republicans used to have all do Democrats have total control Lansing Republicans lost 11 seats in the State House. So they went from 58 to 47 and in the Senate it went from 18 to 15.
I Mean you damn near got to show your freedom papers to be a Republican in Lansing these days. It’s not a good situation Can I go here with it because you guys are out in the wild? What and you earned it, but there’s something brewing in the Democratic Party. Okay now you have DSA we got three here in Metro Detroit.
Well, we got let’s see to leave Got for McKinney McKinney seed Yeah, we got Lawrence. He can now say it. He you know, he can now say I’m DSA Jason You’re right.
You can now say it not have to delete it and then the guy up in Lansing. Yes, so You are gonna have this power struggle in there and you you could see it with Haley Stevens even like Federman All right, you’re you’re like classic left of center. This is way out there What are we gonna see out of the Dems? Well, I mean that’s the big thing right now with these DSA types are empowered in there the next big thing to come is the battle for the presidential nomination in in two years and On their side.
That’s the group I mean the DSA the far left are the ones with the wind in their sails right now and Who are they going to pick to put forward as the leader of their party and that is gonna be a knockdown drag-out fight I don’t better a Democrat candidate in 2028 then Abdul El-Sayed I know I would not be shocked if he stepped up and ran sender slot. I don’t think he will He’s a better speaker than Gavin Newsom much smoother Much more approachable and he’s a son of the third world and that’s exactly the voter that’s been imported into America That’s going to matter girl bosses. That era is done white guys.
That air has been done, right? And so it’s just like Bad day for white dudes last night But here’s the real problem is that Democrats and Republicans are both full of it They get power and they don’t use power And so what you have is you have two parties that been that have been taken over by third party movements Meg is a third party. Yeah, DSA is a third party But the problem is these Democrats the DSA they seem likely to meet their promises They’re not gonna do shit fuck it up. They’re gonna create mayhem We saw it with Bernie Sanders in charge of the Senate Budget Committee Just print money nothing structurally gets done and I’ll tell you why because when it gets to the top, you know who runs it It’s these fucking billionaires.
It’s the power company executives It can go shit down there, but we’re getting ours and we’re taking it their post party politics They’re money people, right? There’s there’s no way you’re taking out the health insurance companies, you know, by the way Pharma drug prices have gone down 3% over 3% the biggest drop since before I was born and you’re running on You know drug prices keep going up. They didn’t and they’re Look isn’t the leadership still the same you still have Schumer and Jeffries and it’s like I Do you think that’ll change well, that’s what we’re talking about Which is let’s watch the war and the farther you pull it out there and the more you bring inflation back is the more the the gristmill turns and That day is coming it always comes we just went through it But your party in Michigan is almost Non-existent and the damn shame of it is is that the Michigan Republican Party was the first Republican Party in history? And now it’s closer to non-existence Then the days of all we’ve had multiple times where? Republicans have held the governor’s office for two decades in Michigan now like I’m gonna show for it going back to his None of the parties have been taken over by movements MAGA DSA told you Told you the day was coming You the Democrats and the Republicans because of the power structure up here the big three the chip manufacturers You gave us all of this international trade didn’t protect us and you we live here, right? You we watch the slide come I went driving in, you know, I’m taking surf the streets, you know, the roads are all fucked up They never got fixed burn down house overgrown field, I’m like Wow, so it’s You could borrow your way out of it borrow your way out of it borrow borrow borrow Eventually it comes and it’s here. Mm-hmm.
It came what we warned you in in one of my books I said you can laugh at us in Detroit But we’re the first one up we’re the first one down and as Detroit goes watch the country go right and here we are The canary in the coal mine. Yeah, we’re the canary in the elevator shaft is what I wrote Yeah, yeah, and so this if you if you like your Michigan The whole country is about to be like this deindustrialized printing fake money Mainstreets empty, you know One of the big things in this was in the exit polling everywhere was the status center issue too was a big motivating factor for a lot of voters in anti data center Movement. Yeah, and quite frankly if we want to compete in the global marketplace, we’re gonna have to have them At some point, but you can’t ram them down people’s throats.
Yes local control has to be a part of it, but man It it it’s going to be a shit show in Washington DC for the next two years and I’m more worried about Lansing What we just stepped into the unknown here. There’s never been a time. We’re gonna be 190 years old in January There’s never been a time when Democrats have run the governor’s office for 16 years straight Governor is an eight-year job in Michigan.
It’s not four years. It’s eight years But you know, we’re gonna have a moratorium on these data centers as soon as my husband gets his right Yeah, how disingenuous is that or again this bothers me because I’m a numbers guy and I Spend my life looking how politics affects us and what they’re actually doing. I don’t like the horse race shit.
I don’t You know in this a question now for our new governor What is she run on? Hmm, I don’t even know what the animating issue behind her campaign was. I saw no big But for Abdul El-Sayed, what would the Democrats have to talk about? You know how many abortion mailers I got from the Michigan Democrat Party Because I have a wife and they think all women are libtards if you bring up the issue of abortion You guys are talking abortion in 2026 We passed limitless abortion in 2022 So they had no issue if people can beat you without an issue and all they have to scream is Trump I mean, I’ll give it up to L. I’ll see I Mean he did have some aid. They’ll say I’ll say I’m trying to be respectful Money out of politics money in your pocket Medicare for all I don’t know how he’s gonna do any of it But but it’s something but it’s something he actually had a platform yes, he did, but you know couldn’t it the media really failed here like you didn’t hold as Like I said Rogers I did that cadaver.
I’m like, oh y’all know about that. Now. We’re looking here that something exciting international media is here I Know where your money came from There was a lot of money spent on this man, and you know small donors fake.
All right medic Medicare for all This is just mathematical fact the reason Healthcare is Unattained we have it. We can’t even afford to use it because of our deductibles That’s a consequence of Obamacare the skyrocketing electricity rates are a consequence of the Green New Deal So expanding Obamacare really helped the healthcare industry in the insurance industry. They profited handsomely the power executives profit handsomely for Reconfiguring the infrastructure you get what I’m saying? So the masters the same The TV ad might be different.
Mm-hmm. I Don’t see where we’re going and the infrastructure. I mean the I Think it was DTE.
They’re saying they’re gonna spend about 30 billion dollars in capital improvements these next five years 15 billion of it on green energy, of course It’s been on stuff that doesn’t make your energy any more reliable I’ve said for months John James should have pulled a Gretchen Whitmer in 2018 and said fix the damn grid You needed one single message you can build other things around that you can build a tree But the base has to be something solid instead each group heard a little bit of I’ll repeal the income tax He saw he’s using the phrase MPSC and speeches. No one knows what that means MPSC people don’t even know what socialism means, right? We’re in a bottom five state for education Our kids weren’t taught what that shit means Hey as a u.s. Senator Electricity runs over state and international boundaries making it a federal issue I am gonna grab them by their lapels bang their heads together and We’re either gonna rip this company down and start over or we’re gonna come up with a plan. Did you know this? You they do not they cannot make a profit on electricity or maintaining the grid did you know that the way they make a profit is Capital Infrastructure a guaranteed 9.9 return.
So anything you want me build is great, right? Here’s the deal with one telephone pole if I put it up We have to pay for it for 30 years at 9.9 percent interest if I don’t maintain it and it snaps. It’s a ghost pole I still have to pay for it for the next whatever’s left on that dead pole. We put a new one in That’s 30 years 9.9. That’s why our bills are going up When you put windmills in that are unreliable, right that’s a capital infrastructure game, that’s why our bills go up this There were topics there were opportunities and these are all what you guys didn’t do that affects how people live and They did not do it.
I mean John James running around with the Trump endorsed on his on his yard signs I cannot confirm reports, but I hear they were trying to cut that off by the end of it Because that one word didn’t mean what it meant at the start of the race It’s embarrassing. Did we hear anything about crime? political corruption Corporate welfare for the billionaires basically capitalistic socialism How about the dirt and the two largest majority black cities in America Southfield in Detroit? Anything because now they’re flipping out down here And nobody made any overtures to anybody that can deliver some money here they serve some drinks though They did serve drinks at Detroit bars both candidates Rogers and James. Ah, so that happened.
Did they do this? Roll up the sleeves like that God all right. What about Haley Stephens is she by far the biggest loser here. Okay, so first for instance now she has no job There’s no party.
I didn’t know the party could just kick you out and she got no friends Is that is that the big loser? She’s not in that different of a position had she done nothing She would still go into 27 with no job and no clear next move her friend Jerry Moss ran for the seat. She left Abdul is the junior senator Alyssa’s the senior senator what was going to be her next move? She’s shown no interest in Lansing. Could it be? Oh, geez.
Let’s see Secretary of Commerce Yeah, I mean she was Obama’s Auto czar. Mm-hmm. He’s shaking his head.
No, but like what you have no special insight I mean, why would we have why would we have Jennifer grant? No if she came go mouth bingo They have they’re really good about taking care of their people they pull ground home She’s been out of politics for like 15 years when they pulled her back. Yeah, what was she gonna go? She’s got Money, she can make there’s good money in making like saying pushing off your party in the media She’s gonna make a lot of money, but she did don’t worry about her But she needs to not try to become a Republican because she’s not one right the value is in being the dissenting Democrat Yeah, I just don’t know that there was a path forward for her in anything I know right I think James right I I don’t think it changed her future one bit. It just She’s gonna be in a lot less group text.
Okay, here’s the deal they threw a bunch of the Democrats to a bunch of gobbledygook out there and it worked because You guys had two problems. You had no ideas. No message.
No nothing and you had Trump So Trump’s gonna be gone Me a best get get down with the people. What’s the message? What are we looking to do and who are we gonna pop into these these roles? Mm-hmm Right. So as we sit here right now, you have no fucking idea.
Do you? Do a few big you do you do don’t know you want to share with you all the guy who should have gotten the You know nod in Michigan’s 10th District Robert Lujan I who is a guy you represent, yeah, no, I did Cuz I believe me. I know knock-knock Robert Lujan. I not Robert Lujan I what Charlie you just asked you just asked for young people young Albanian kid duty could well Trump put his thumb on the scale up against them cuz Trump put his thumb on the got my screwed him Yes, he got Mike Coxed but he would he was a young future generation not some you know, not the keep it clean, bro Anyway, it’s a joke.
So there are there are exciting people, but the problem is every good Republican candidate is a unicorn Every Democrat candidate comes from a system at a pipeline. Oh pause right here that right a System and a pipeline and they start early. Yeah, like you’re delivering Commencement speeches notice how I’ll say he’s the biggest plant we’ve ever seen Yeah, but I went to talk about someone who’s grew.
He wasn’t a valedictorian was he? I don’t think he was I think he was like salutatorian or something like that Speech and he’s speaking at the same commencement that Bill Clinton speaks and Clinton encourages his path into politics George Soros or his family’s paying for his medical bills. I mean, yep We don’t have anything like that I think about how many times Jocelyn Benson went to East Coast or West Coast for fundraisers Meanwhile, our people are left to go back to the same two three families in Michigan Families who are very sensitive of being taken advantage of and being seen as a deep pocket You have to expand the base How come the Texas oil man doesn’t understand that what happens in Michigan affects him that Abdul El-Sayed affects him There’s just there’s just no team. I mean you’re in Macomb County They make a sport of infighting as Republicans in Macomb County.
They don’t fight Democrats. They fight each other. They cross vote.
Mm-hmm They do it’s a different different neighborhood. Oh, very different Interesting one love Macomb County good elections, though. Okay.
No, I haven’t said that I’m gonna wrap this up Thank God, this is over. Thank God Yes But don’t don’t Jump on my back and scream at me when I start holding who’s ever in power to task Who about the Republicans? Democrats it’s like that’s all we got here last time. I had a Republican to look into was Rick Snyder.
So that’s the deal. Whoever holds it. I don’t give a shit You better do is right my favorite is we have you know Three women in the top positions right now and when you go after them, they say you’re attacking women Right, and so it’s the same thing where Democrats hold the power Guess what? you’re gonna get the scrutiny and we have to balance it out because the Michigan media is like a bad PR firm for Democrats and So it takes independent voices To go hard at these people and you know One guy I really feel sorry for is Jada Boyer because J was doing great work up there in Lansing holding government that oversight committee holding people to account doing his job and now now I don’t J’s got nothing unfortunately.
He was he’s was the running mate of John James Lieutenant governor Republican. I don’t think he gives a shit on I don’t think he like like Lansing at all At all and there’s not much to like actually, you know, what else I don’t like is high insurance rates for for our automobile Why do we have the highest? Why why does a $25 subscription get charged to your insurance auto insurance? at $5,000 so the hustles in The insurance come are we gonna fix that because we had the Democrats we had auto reform We got nothing. They continue to rise and if you’re looking for a portable Auto insurance that judges you on your driving record and not your credit score cure calm You like how he did that cure? Yeah, yeah Thank you, thank you.
Okay. Now I have to go fix my muffler. He has to go find his boyfriend and you guys I’m getting ready for the Lions game this weekend.
Let’s go Jack strong go beat the Dolphins go blue. Oh, yeah, right Yeah It’s local again, I’m out go state this and honestly honestly what happened it validates the idea of make politics local Again, it’s not a repudiation You just got your nose hit because you didn’t make politics local again And so let this be a lesson talk about your voter. You have a chance talk about one guy in, Washington bugger off Work for the dams Give Jamie Rowe political consultant a call if you’re a Democrat, you need to know how the losers are thinking All right next week Southfield Oh Mary Sheffield This is yeah, this is hold them accountable Charlie time to hold them accountable paperwork paperwork paperwork Trump still runs the Justice Department to his I’m aware, right? Yes, indeed All right.
Keep it clean. Keep it fair You
