Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield has man trouble — and this time, the allegations could shake City Hall to its foundation.
Her former lover, businessman Marvin Walker, claims he wasn’t just the boyfriend. He says he was the bag man — collecting stacks of cash from businessmen and delivering alleged kickbacks to Sheffield while she served on City Council.
Walker says he has the receipts: text messages, videos, screenshots and photographs.
One message allegedly shows him telling Sheffield, “7,000 in your mailbox.” Her reported response? “Thank you.”
City Hall denies Walker gave Sheffield money and questions his motives. And Walker himself comes with plenty of baggage.
But here’s where this story gets really weird: Why was Detroit’s police chief personally asking people to remove photographs of Sheffield and Walker from social media? And why did police later cuff one of the men posting them and seize his phone?
Sex. Money. Revenge. Police. City Hall.
Is this just a scorned lover settling a score?
Or are Detroiters getting another look at the bad old days?
Watch the investigation.
